The design study was done with the aim of the project being reminiscent of a traditional mansion in the heart of the island. The visitor is confronted with a special aspect of the store due to the arches that adorn the window. An important place in the plan was the stately cellar of the store. An element that contributed to the atmosphere of the space was the application of classic chandeliers that intensify the island style to the fullest.
Continue readingWith Inspiring and Approachable as the design concept, each floor has a uniform welcoming feel. Inspiring views are highlighted by isolating them for shared communal use amongst staff. Repetition in materiality provides staff with the familiarity to navigate between floors seamlessly. A featured staircase joins the upper two floors, creating connection. With an emphasis on flexible design, the seventh floor houses the reception area, conference center, bistro and catering kitchen and can double as an event space. Local materials native to Canada showcase the company's heritage.

Through techniques such as changing scenery with each step, scaling from small to large, and continuity of design, the physical space expresses the interplay of light and shadow. The layout also takes into account the psychological activities of visitors and control of their behavior by designing optimal pathways, ultimately achieving the goal of better showcasing and selling products for the business.

The main wall of the lobby is a replica of the River of Taichung City, Taiwan flowing across the city. People can imagine walking along the riverbank and feeling the softness of the breeze and the greenery through the hanging plants. Finally, they can stop at the rock furniture in the cafe and enjoy their most beautiful moments.
