Haocailou

Haocailou is a restaurant interior design that presents the culture of Shunde. In Shunde culture, Haocai means good luck, festivity and rich color. The project uses many lanterns, traditional colors and layered materials to create a lively atmosphere. The phoenix, a symbol of good fortune and a local nickname for Shunde, is the main theme. The composition was intended to convey the feeling as if to be seated in one corner of an old square to take a break.

Dark green tones fill up the space, while the columns in the center divide the room into kitchen and seating sections. With somewhat limited space, two inverted L-shaped areas allow for smooth interior traffic and a cozy dining experience.

Poetic and Artistic

Poetic and Artistic is the interior design of a five-storey residential house of 480 square metres in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. The building is narrow and deep, so the layout was reorganised to improve daylight and the sense of space. The first and second floors form the public area and include a reception tea room, while the third to fifth floors hold bedrooms, a study and exercise rooms for a family of five. A large rock veneer wall rises to the second-floor ceiling, and floor-to-ceiling windows bring sunlight into the shared spaces.
