The Ho Hotel

The Ho

The Ho is a renovated hotel lobby interior of 630 square meters in Taiwan. Gray is the main theme, applied to the stairs, flooring, corridors and furnishings. A dome with staggered linear tassels sits under the high ceiling and echoes an art installation below. Marble, black mirror and artificial stone replace the earlier ornate style. Natural light is retained, and adjustable LED lights are placed at the seats. The lobby offers individual work areas, a multi-person forum and a sofa lounge for business travelers.

Monmono Blue Restaurant and Gallery

Monmono Blue

Monmono Blue is a restaurant and gallery interior in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. The whole space is finished in a single blue tone, creating a monochrome setting for art. Contrast is built with gloss and matt textures and with lighting at 6000K, because warmer light would make the blue look green. Most elements were prefabricated and installed on site. The interior covers 1464 square feet and seats 50 guests.

Parametric Cross Multifunctional Bookstore

Parametric Cross

Cross is a multifunctional bookstore created for public reading, salon events, coffee and study. A simple warehouse-like space covers 70 percent of the 780 square meter interior, which keeps the construction budget low. The remaining area holds a large partition installation of 48 Chinese moon gates and western arches, generated with parametric software and prefabricated in a factory. The frames are steel and the surfaces are perforated aluminum panels, with embedded LED strips that soften the material. Gradient colors mark each function and help visitors find their way.

Moonshot Cafe Exhibition Booth

Moonshot Cafe

This design is for the Japan Pavilion at the CES 2023, one of the largest technology conventions in the glove. It is inspired from simplicity and minimization, the fundamental concept of Zen, which Japan has always been with since ancient times. It’s rare to have a cafe, rather than having a normal exhibition booth in a convention. The space tries to become an oasis where the interaction begins. It also focuses on transparency and spaciousness since the ceiling of the venue is low. In addition, it has lots of green, showing the eco-friendship, reducing waste, and creating a cozy atmosphere.

Warm Flower Room Slow Hours Residence

Warm Flower Room Slow Hours

This project involved the renovation of an old single-story residence, with an indoor area of 108m2. To meet the needs of the single owner, the three original rooms were transformed into two, while cleverly reducing the unused corridor and expanding the public area. Additionally, the lounge near the window was partially receded using varying flooring materials, iron and glass folding doors to clearly delineate the spaces.
